Subjects

Compulsory subject

    • Language Arts

The subject integrates literary appreciation and the art of writing through a variety of work genres. Carefully selected readings give students an in-depth understanding of the major literary genres as well as the characteristics of each. Students learn to identify the components of a text to understand how it functions and affects the reader.

    • Math

Topics covered in the course include: numbers (ratios and proportional relationships, coefficients, arithmetic representations, fractions, decimals, percentages), geometry (surface area, volume) , statistics and probability, algebra (linear equations, systems of equations, functions). The system of exercises, homework, and tests helps students master each skill.

    • Science

The course is inquiring and experimental approach designed based on modern scientific curriculum as well as advanced teaching methods. Each lesson has one or more query-based activities. There are also a lot of hands-on lab activities in the course, which take up about 40% of the time. All hands-on experiments use relatively common household materials.

Students learn topics including: basic physics (structure and properties of matter, forces and motion, waves, force fields, energy), Earth and space science (earth history) , weather and climate, climate change, human and technological influence on the earth), ecology, biology (cells, systems in the human body, life cycle, nutrition and energy) quantity), chemistry (chemical reaction).
